Musicians

Nai-Yuan Hu, Violin

Since winning First Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 1985, Hu Nai-yuan has appeared at major venues worldwide, including the Concertgebouw, David Geffen Hall, and Suntory Hall. Praised by BBC Music Magazine for his technical brilliance and musical intelligence, he has performed with leading orchestras across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and is the founder of Taiwan Connection (TC).

Hsuan-Hao Hsu, Violin

Hsuan-Hao Hsu graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music, studying with Joseph Silverstein and Pamela Frank. He toured with the Curtis Chamber Orchestra and is active as a chamber musician, having performed with the Zorá String Quartet and founded the H.E.Y. String Trio. He has appeared at the Taiwan Connection Music Festival and TC Chamber Music Series.

Shih-Hsien Tsai, Viola

Shih-Hsien Tsai studied in Taiwan, Amsterdam, and Germany with Nobuko Imai and Quatuor Danel. An award-winning violist, he performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, and is currently Principal Viola of Ciconia Consort in The Hague, the Netherlands. He regularly collaborates with Nai-Yuan Hu.

Simon Thompson, Cello

Simon Thompson studied in Basel and London with Ivan Monighetti and Alexander Boyarsky, graduating with First Class Honours. A prizewinner at major competitions, he has performed at venues including Clarence House and festivals such as Lucerne. He served as Principal Cellist of the National Symphony Orchestra (2022–2026) and teaches at the National Taiwan University of Education.

The music performance in the galleries of the Art Center (Memory—Nai-Yuan Hu & Friends Quartet) will be photographed and recorded.

By entering the performance space with a ticket, attendees are deemed to have consented to such photography and recording.
